This year, the Technical University of Munich hosted the OR Conference 2024. Over the course of four days, there was the opportunity to listen to exciting presentations on current research work in the field of operations research. Colleagues from universities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria presented their latest findings. The programme was complemented by guest lectures from professors, researchers from industry and providers of optimisation software, including our alumni Dr Justine Broihan from GAMS and Dr Insa Südbeck from OM Partners.
Our institute was also represented with presentations by Niklas Pöch and Jörn Serrer, who shared their research findings with the participants. The diverse supporting programme also offered plenty of opportunities for networking and exchange - whether over pretzels and pork knuckle in a Bavarian pub or during a visit to Nymphenburg Palace. New inspiration for their own research or a new topic for seminar papers or theses for our students at PROD could also be obtained.
