Operations Research II - Advanced methods of linear and integer programming
This course is intended to prepare students for the mathematical and implementation work of a Master's thesis in Operations Management. Such a thesis will typically deal with the formulation and solution of some optimization problem. Students will learn to program exact optimization methods for linear and integer programs using the C++ interface of the SCIP framework, in particular to construct branch-cut-and-price algorithms. Special emphasis will be given to the construction and justification of Dantzig-Wolfe decompositions and their implementation in this framework.
"Engineering and Business Administration" students have two options for receiving credits for "Operations Research II - Advanced Methods of Linear and Integer Programming."
- in the economic area in the elective area by the course "Operations Research II - Advanced Methods of Linear and Integer Programming".
- as the mandatory course "Scientific Computing".
